New Delhi, Apr 20 (UNI) India has called for enhanced cooperation between the United Nations and regional and sub-regional organisations to address contemporary challenges and conflicts around the globe.
Reiterating India's commitment to close and friendly cooperation with regional and sub-regional groupings such as the BIMSTEC, ASEAN and African Union, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday said that a "rational evaluation" of the cooperation between the UN and regional and sub-organisations in the last 75 years would help in future engagements.
"We think that enhanced cooperation between the UN and regional and sub-regional organisations will be an important factor in successfully addressing such contemporary challenges and conflicts.
