Delhi Metro services resume on Blue, Pink Line

New Delhi, Sep 9 (UNI) As part of the Stage-I of graded resumption of Metro services, the Delhi Metro on Wednesday resumed operations after 171 days on its Blue Line, from Dwarka Sector 21 to
Electronic City/Vaishali (65.35 km and 58 stations) and Pink Line, from Majlis Park to Shiv
Vihar (57.58 km and 38 stations).
'The Blue and Pink lines resumed services today. Slowly and steadily, Delhi Metro will be back to take you places! #MetroBackOnTrack,' the DMRC said in a tweet.
'Services will be available on both of these Lines from 0700 hrs to 1100 hrs in the morning and from 1600 hrs to 2000 hrs in the evening, along with Yellow and Rapid Lines, which are already operational since Monday, as per the given timings,' a DMRC spokesperson said here on Tuesday.
The DMRC will be running 66 trains on Blue Line, performing around 478 train trips during morning
and evening hours on September 9 and 10.
Similarly, 27 trains with around 228 trips from Majlis Park to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and 13 trains with
around 291 trips from Trilok Puri-Sanjay Lake to Shiv Vihar sections of Pink line will be put into service on these 2 days.
'The trips will be subsequently increased as the operational timing of services get extended on
September 11th & 12th with the opening of other Lines in a graded manner,' the DMRC spokesperson said.
The re-opening of these two Lines will ensure availability of nine of the existing 28 interchange Metro stations.
These include Rajouri Garden (Blue Line & Pink Line), INA Delhi Haat (Yellow & Pink Line), Mayur
Vihar Phase – I (Blue Line & Pink Line), Karkarduma (Blue Line & Pink Line), Rajiv Chowk (Blue Line & Yellow Line), Yamuna Bank (Blue Line 3 & 4), Anand Vihar ISBT (Blue Line & Pink Line), Azadpur (Pink Line & Yellow Line) and Sikanderpur (Yellow Line & Rapid Metro).
The list of Gates, which will remain open for entry of passengers at each station, along with all necessary updates, are available on the home page of Delhi Metro's official website www.delhimetrorail.com for easy access of the passenger information.
In addition to above Lines, three more Lines- Red Line, from Rithala to Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda (Ghaziabad), Green Line, from Kirti Nagar/Inderlok to Brig Hosihar Singh (Bahadurgarh) and Violet Line, from Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh), will resume services from September 10, with the same schedule of four hours of passenger service.
Thereafter, the remaining Lines (in addition to the existing Lines of Stage-I) will also be re-opened under Stage 2 (Magenta Line, from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden and Grey Line, from Dwarka to Najafgarh) and Stage 3 (Airport Express Line, from New Delhi to Dwarka Sec-21) of Graded resumption plan on September 11 and 12, respectively.
Thus, the entire Metro network will be made operational for passenger services throughout the day from September 12 onwards, as it was before March 22, with all social distancing norms/guidelines to be followed by the passengers during the travel, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, the spokesperson added.
The DMRC resumed its services on Yellow Line and Rapid Metro, as per the graded resumption plan on Monday, after remaining closed for 169 days, due to the global pandemic of Novel Coronavirus.
The Delhi Metro resumed its services on Monday morning on Yellow Line, from Samaypur Badli to HUDA City Centre, including Rapid Metro, Gurugram at 0700 hrs, with all safety measures in place to check the spread of COVID-19 in the Metro premises, which requires everyone to follow a new normal of social distancing, face mask and hand sanitisation.
The metro services in the NCR region were suspended from March 22, following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country.
