New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) Hitting out at terrorism Union Minister of Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said on Friday that terrorism is the biggest enemy of humanity and Islam and everyone will have to come together to remove this hurdle in the peace, progress and prosperity of the world.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Committee on Culture of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran at Antyodaya Bhawan here, Mr Naqvi said that in today's times terrorism has not remained as a threat to a particular region or country only; it has become the biggest challenge for human values in the entire world.
By isolating the supporters of terrorism, the entire world can defeat the evil by being united, he said.
He said that those organizations and people are the biggest enemies of Islam, who are involved in terror activities by making Islam as their “security cover.”
The Minister said that the country is a role model for the entire world for social and communal harmony. We will have to strengthen this fabric of social harmony and unity.
Constitutional, political and social rights of Minorities are absolutely safe and secure in India, added Mr Naqvi.
“Unity in Diversity,” which is a centuries old part of India's culture, is the key to strengthening social and communal harmony, Mr Naqvi said.
The delegation of the Committee on Culture of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran included Mr Ahmad Mazani, Chairman of the committee; Dr. Asghar Masoudi, vice-chairman of the committee and committee members Dr. Ali Reza Ebrahimi; Dr. Mohammad Esmaeil Saeedi and Mr Amir Hossein and other senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, and Iranian Embassy in India.
Issues related to Waqf management, Haj and Ziyarat were also discussed in the meeting with the delegation apart from promotion of Parliamentary exchanges, greater people to people contact and trade.
Mr Naqvi also extended best wishes to the people of Iran on the upcoming festival of Nauroz.
