Teacher training crucial to improve, maintain quality of education system: Sisodia

New Delhi, Oct 3 (UNI) Teacher training is one such aspect that is crucial to improve and maintain the quality of the education system especially, the government school system, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said here on Wednesday.
Mr Sisodia, who also holds the Education portfolio, made this statement at the 5th edition of the Asian Summit on Education & Skills (ASES) followed by10th edition of DIDAC India, which kicked off in the national capital on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sisodia said, “Platforms such as ASES and DIDAC India play an important role to promote peer learning among countries and educational institutions which is critical for adoption best practices in education.”
“Technology in education is another area which we need to focus on and internalise. We have to find innovative ways to make education fun and less burdensome for students,” Mr Sisodia stated.
The Minister said that in Delhi, the Government had already cut down the curriculum by 25 per cent to reduce the burden on the students and introduced happy curriculum.
'We have also requested the Central Government to look at the possibility of reducing it up to 50 per cent,' he stated.
Earlier in the day, Mr Sisodia in a tweet said, ‘’Delhi govt is pride to host Asia's biggest & India's only conference on Educational training resources. #DelhiEducationSummit Met Education Ministers & policy makers from 15 countries & many are interested to visit to #HappinessClasses”.
Both the events, ASES and DIDAC India are partnered by The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Ministry of Human Resource Development, NITI Aayog, AICTE, NCERT and National Institute of Open Schooling and hosted by Department of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi.

ASES is the global annual meeting of ministers offering insights from leading education pioneers, policy makers and education experts from Asia.

DIDAC India is the annual exhibition and conference and only event in the country for Educational Material, Training & Technology based solutions for all levels and sectors of the Education & Training Industry.
