Two held, 421.5 kg illegal firecrackers seized

New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) Delhi Police have arrested two people and seized over 421.5 kg illegal firecrackers when they were transporting it during night in a tempo in north Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar area, police said on Friday.
According to police, both, identified as Nagmani (33) resident of Saharsa in Bihar, and Udit (26) resident of Paharganj in Delhi, were involved in possession and further sale of illegal firecrackers.
On Tuesday night, a police patrolling team noticed a tempo plying from Jhandewalan Mandir towards Motia Khan. The vehicle was stopped by police personnel and it was found loaded with illegal firecrackers weighing about 421.5 kg, it has been the first kind of recovery of this festive season, said Sagar Singh Kalsi, DCP, north Delhi.
