New Delhi, Dec 2 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Monday dismissed a PIL filed by a Tamil actor, seeking permission to prove that Electronic Voting Machines can be tampered with.
The public interest litigation was filed by Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan before the apex court and sought a direction to prove that the EVMs can be tampered with.
"The petition is devoid of merits and thus accordingly we dismiss the same," ruled the bench, headed by Chief Justice of India S A Bobde.
Khan had approached the Supreme Court for a direction to the Election Commission to allow him to prove his claim that the EVMs can be tampered with.
He had lost the Lok Sabha election from Dindigul in Tamil Nadu.
Khan had knocked the doors of the apex court seeking a direction that he may be allowed to prove that the EVMs can be tampered with.
