New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah and several of his ministerial colleagues on Sunday greeted countrymen for Govardhan Puja.
Govardhan Puja is performed the day after Diwali. It is also known as Annakoot. Dedicated to Lord Krishna, devotees offer prayers and a variety of vegetarian dishes on the occasion.
In his greetings, Mr Shah said, "Hearty greetings on Govardhan Puja to all the countrymen."
Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in his message "May Lord Krishna bless you with health, wealth and prosperity on the occasion of #GovardhanPuja", while Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan extending his greetings said Govardhan Puja was a festival associated with our folk life. "Godhan Puja in this festival underlines the association of human life with nature. This festival also reminds us of the great character of Lord Krishna."
Minority Affairs Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi tweeted, "Heartiest greetings to all on the auspicious occasion of Govardhan Pooja."
