Ravi Mittal takes charge as I&B Secretary

New Delhi, Dec 16 (UNI) Senior IAS officer Ravi Mittal on Monday took charge as the new Information and Broadcasting Secretary, a Press Information Bureau tweeted on Monday.
He took charge from Mr Amit Khare who has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Higher Education.
A 1986 batch IAS officer of Bihar Cadre, Mr Mittal was working as the Special Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance.

World leaders condole deadly Odisha train accident

New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) Condolences poured in from world leaders over the tragic train accident in Balasore in Odisha in which over 260 passengers were killed, and over 900 injured. Russian President Vladimir Putin, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif were among those who condoled the fatalities.

New Delhi, June 3 (UNI) Supreme Court's vacation bench on Saturday stayed the Allahabad High Court's order directing the Head of Department (Astrology Department), Lucknow University to determine if an alleged rape victim was a Mangalik or not after the accused refused to marry her on such grounds.
