New Delhi, July 21 (UNI) A pre-application conference on Private Train Project, organised by the Ministry of Railways on Tuesday, received an over-whelming response with participation of around 16 prospective applicants.
This is the first initiative of private investment for running passenger trains over the Indian railway network and would entail private sector investment of about Rs 30,000 crore, an official release here said.
As part of the bidding process, the Railways conducted the first pre-application conference on Tuesday which received around 16 prospective applicants, at which officials of Ministry of Railways and NITI Aayog discussed and clarified issues and concerns raised by the prospective applicants for improved clarity on the provisions of RFQ and bidding framework.
