Rahul stopped from entering Saharanpur to meet victims of violence

New Delhi/Saharanpur, May 27 (UNI) Congress Vice-president Rahul Gandhi, who this morning left for Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh to meet victims of the violence there, was today stopped from entering the area and from meeting the victims of the violence. As Rahul, who was accompanied by AICC geneal secretary incharge for UP Ghulam Nabi Azad and the PCC chief for UP Raj Babbar, reached Saharanpur this afternoon, he was stopped by the police from meeting the victims. Rahul this morning embarked on the visit to the UP district despite the State Administration having refused permission for the visit. On the argument by the police officials that they could have stopped him on the entry to the Haryana-Uttar Pradesh border, Rahul said, "Don't say that you could have stopped me at the border.’’ Earlier on his way, Rahul met a delegation of the Dalits at Yamuna Bridge. Rahul had yesterday launched an attack on the Narendra Modi Government, charging it of following a policy of division to divert attention from its failed promises. "When they fail to deliver, they divide and distract. But anger and hatred will not convert into jobs or solutions,’’ he had tweeted. UNI AR SNU 1540/1554
