New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday paid homage to former president and Bharat Ratna recipient Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on his 132nd birth anniversary.
Mr Kovind paid floral tributes to the former president before his portrait at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
The day is observed as Teachers' Day in the country in honour of the philosopher-statesman, who served as India's first Vice President and the second President of India.
Born on this day in 1888, Dr Radhakrishnan was Vice President from 1952-1962 and the country's
second President from 1062-1967. He passed away on April 17, 1975.
