Shah expresses grief over fire accident at COVID 19 facility in Vijayawada

New Delhi, Aug 9 (UNI) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday expressed his grief over the tragic fire accident at COVID-19 facility in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in this incident.
Taking to twitter, he said, “Deeply anguished by the news of tragic fire incident at a COVID-19 facility in Vijayawada, Andhra Pardesh. The Centre assures all possible support to the state govt”.
My condolences are with the affected families in this time of grief, Mr Shah added in his tweet message.
On early hours of Sunday, at least nine people were reportedly killed in a major fire caused by a short circuit at a hotel which was being used as a coronavirus facility in Vijayawada where a private hospital had leased Hotel Swarna Palace in Vijayawada to keep infected Covid patients in the hotel.
Andhar Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex- gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the kin of the deceased and ordered a detailed probe in this tragic incident.
