Refusal to compensate states on GST is nothing short of betrayal by Modi Govt: Sonia

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said that the refusal of the Central Government to compensate the state governments for GST dues is a betrayal of the trust of the people.

Ms Gandhi, who met the Chief Ministers of seven states amid concerns expressed by these states governments over the Central Government’s decision to hold NEET and JEE examinations amid the Covid Pandemic and non payment of GST dues to the state governments, said that holding JEE and NEET exams during the pandemic will put the lives of thousands of students at risk and that the government must consider postponing these exams to safer time.
