Sidhu bats for cross-border trade between India and Pakistan

New Delhi, Nov 20 (UNI) Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday batted for cross-border trade between India and Pakistan, while visiting the Kartarpur Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.
Sidhu travelled through the visa-free Kartarpur corridor on Saturday.
“I talk on big issues. Kartarpur opened due to the efforts of both PMs Modi ji and Imran Khan” he told reporters.

He also requested both leaders for greater exchange between the two nations that will also impact Punjab economy positively.
“We should open the borders (for cross-border trade). Why should we go through far away Mundra Port? Why not from here, where it's only 21 kms (to Pakistan)” he said.
The government opened the Kartarpur corridor after a gap of 20 months on November 18, ahead of Guru Nanak’s Gurpurab. The first batch of 28 Indian Sikhs, including women, had visited the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan on Wednesday by using the corridor on the first day of its reopening.
While asking about the BJP criticism on his remarks over Imran Khan, he said “Let them say whatever they want to say.”
Sidhu once again stoked controversy after he called the Pakistan Prime Minister “bada bhai” (elder brother) as he was meeting the officials of Kartarpur during his visit to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib.
