Rahul and Priyanka arrested by UP police while going to meet family of Hathras gangrape victim, later released and escorted back to Delhi

New Delhi/Noida, Oct 1 (UNI) A high drama occurred on Thursday in Noida on the border of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh after former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and AICC General secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with several leaders of the Congress party, were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police from Greater Noida while he was walking towards Hathras to meet the family of the rape victim.
After detaining them at a UP guest House for 30 minutes, Rahul Gandhi said and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were released by the Uttar Pradesh police and escorted back to New Delhi.
Mr Gandhi, along with his sister Priyanka and other senior leaders, had left Delhi on Thursday morning to meet the family of the victim.
