Our fight is b/w collective idea of India Vs individual's arrogance: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on Wednesday that his party is leading a fight between the idea of India by its people Vs the idea of India by a person.
Addressing an assembly in Kerala's Wayanad district, Mr Gandhi criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his "ignorance" towards the people of South India.
In his address, the Member of Parliament (MP) from Wayanad also mentioned the imposition of the Hindi language, an issue that has been raking controversies since the Modi government came to power at the Centre.
"Imagine the arrogance of a person who says I know what India is. Who says he knows What Kerala and Tamil Nadu want. Imagine the ignorance of the person who wants to enforce his belief be it the religion, culture or language on the people without knowing whether they are willing to accept. This is the problem I have with the PM."
"His (Modi) ignorance speaks volumes. He is convinced that he does not need to learn anymore. He thinks that he knows this great land (India) and nothing else remains to learn about the people living here," Mr Rahul said.
"Our political fight is between arrogance and humility, anger and compassion, myself and others. Our battle is to save India from an individual's political ambition and make it a collective dream," he continued.
Gandhi was in Wayanad to inaugurate the HIMA dialysis centre.
"I believe that India is a relationship with the people who live here. India is a relationship between people across culture, caste, language and religion. It is a relationship between Hindu, Muslim, Sikhs, Dravidian, Marathi, Hindi, Telugu Malayalam. I have come here to learn your tradition, language, culture, hopes and aspirations," he said.
