New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday lauded the efforts of the Himachal Pradesh government to conduct a survey to select 'one district, one product', for the Centrally-sponsored Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP).
In a post on Social media, Rahul termed the survey by the Himachal Pradesh government as 'a good idea' and said that "he had suggested this sometime back".
In a tweet, Mr Gandhi said, ' This is a good idea. I had suggested it some time back. Its implementation will need a complete change of mindset.'
He posted on his Twitter account a news report from Solan in Himachal Pradesh, that the Industries Department is conducting a baseline survey in all districts to select one district, one product for the Centrally-sponsored Micro and Small Enterprises Cluster Development Programme (MSE-CDP).
According to the news report, the data of food processing units, self-help groups and cooperative societies based on widely-grown crops in every district are being mapped to ascertain the feasibility of setting up processing units. The availability of produce, its marketing facilities, etc, are also being examined.
