New Delhi/Jaipur, Jul 29 (UNI) Former president of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee Sachin Pilot on Wednesday congratulated his successor Govind Singh Dotasra for assuming charge and hoped that he will respect the party workers who toiled to bring the party back to power in the desert state.
Mr Dotasra replaced Mr Pilot as the head of Congress in Rajasthan after the latter was removed from the dual post of state president and deputy chief minister over alleged anti-party activities.
"Congratulations Govind Dotasra for the president post of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee. I hope you, without any pressure or bias, will respect the party workers who worked hard work for the formation of government,"Mr Pilot wrote on his twitter handle in Hindi.
Mr Dotasra on Wednesday took the oath as president of the RPCC in Jaipur. He also holds the portfolio of Minister of State for primary and secondary education and the Minister for Tourism.
The 56-year-old Congress leader represents Laxmangarh seat of Sikar district in the Assembly.
Mr Pilot remained the president of the RPCC for more than seven years. As a state president, he took on Bharatiya Janata Party both in 2013 and 2018 state Assembly polls.
He, along with 18 other Congress MLAs, revolted against Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and left the desert state.
They remained cemented in a hotel in Manesar of BJP-ruled Haryana and rejected all the calls and offers by the Congress to return to the state.
