Modi-led govt misled country on China issue: Sharad Pawar

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar on Sunday slammed the Narendra Modi-led BJP government and alleged that the nation was misled by the Prime Minister on China issue.
Addressing the 8th National Convention of NCP at Talkatora Stadium in the national capital, the NCP Chief said, "The PM said the Chinese army did not enter, but now it is clear that he had made a misrepresentation.
"The failure of the Modi government on the matter of China is clear," he added.
Elaborating on the issue, he said," under the Narendra Modi government China continuously violated the LAC on the Indian border. Why are we not able to act assertively in front of Chinese infiltration or take action today, if this is not our failure then what is?" Pawar questioned.
Attacking the government on the state of economy, Pawar said the government claims that the Indian economy has become stronger whereas the country has been facing a very high inflation and unemployment.
Pawar said due to wrong and irrational policies of the central government, inflation is at its peak today. Along with the problems of employment, the concerns about the security of the country have increased.
He also called the party workers to gear up to work nationally to challenge the misdeeds of the Union government and the opposition unity would be its top priority.
"There is a continuous decline in democratic values, in such a situation the youth of our country will have to come forward," he added.
The NCP Chief said now new generation needs to be in leadership roles to fight against the misdeeds of the Union government in a democratic way.
During the convention, the NCP leader accused BJP leaders of doing politics of religion and raised the issue of inflation and said it is at its peak in the country.
"The LPG cylinder which was available for Rs 410 during the time of the UPA government is now available for Rs 1000" he said.
On employment, the party said this year the jobs of 19 lakh youth are at stake, the party alleged.
Quoting a Survey, the NCP said 31 lakh posts are currently vacant for 40 lakh jobs in the country, but due to the indifferent attitude of the government, they are neglected.
Appreciating all the leaders and workers who came to Delhi for the convention, he appealed that the Nationalist Congress Party is a youth party and it has to accept every challenge and fight against those forces which are crippling democratic institutions.
Senior leaders Supriya Sule, Praful Patel, Ajit Pawar, Yoganand Shastri and other regional leaders were present at the Convention.
