New Delhi, Nov 26 (UNI) Terming the developments in Maharashtra as a huge setback for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, AICC General Secretary In-charge KC Venugopal on Tuesday said "this is a big day in the history of Indian Constitution and democracy".
"On the Constitution Day itself, the values of the Constitution and democracy has won. This is a big day in the history of Indian Constitution and democracy", Mr Venugopal said in a statement here, after the resignation of Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar from the posts of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister posts, respectively.
"We had said that the illegally installed BJP Government in Maharashtra will have to step down in dishonour soon. That has come true. They are shamefully stepping down", he added.
