New Delhi, Sep 1 (UNI) Congress on Wednesday constituted a committee to plan and coordinate celebrations of 75 years of India's independence, which will be headed by former prime minister Manmohan Singh.
Mukul Wasnik will be the convenor for the committee.
The Former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, former defence minister AK Antony, former union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, are in the committee along with others.
Congress leaders Ambika Soni, Bhupinder SIngh Hooda, Pramod Tiwari, M. Ramachandran, KR Ramesh Kumar, and Pradyut Bordoloi will also be a part of the committee.
Government has announced that the 75th year of India's independence will be celebrated as 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav', with a series of celebrations to mark the landmark anniversary.
