Congress spokesperson Gaurav Vallabh while addressing a press conference here accused that the price of the essential commodities were being falsely spiked.

He further attacked the government saying that it was because of the wrong policies potato was being sold at highest price in the past ten years.
Vallabh said that Potato was being sold at a 147 per cent price hike, while onion at 142 per cent, which has made common man's life difficult.
He further accused the government of not making efforts to stop the same from happening allegedly to promote black marketing of these commodities.
The government must answer now whether as to why it did not take steps timely which resulted in this situation, he added.
Congress leader also asked whether as to why was 125 lakh ton potato exported when there was appropriate arrangement for storing the same, and also asked whether as to why was not the Onion buffer well protected.
