Cong slams Modi Govt over economy, Priyanka says 'BJP skilled at selling, not creating'

New Delhi, Dec 3 (UNI) The Congress on Tuesday hit out at the Narendra Modi government on various issues related to the Indian economy, including the 'worst performance of Railways', saying the "BJP government is skilled at selling, not creating".
Referring to a CAG report, which was tabled in Parliament on Moday, saying that the Indian Railways recorded the worst performance in the last decade, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that the BJP government has put the railways in the worst condition.
"Indian Railways is the lifeline of the country. Now the BJP government has put the Indian Railways in the worst condition. After a few days, just like other government undertakings, the BJP government will start selling of railways too. Because this government is skilled at selling, not creating", the Congress general secretary tweeted in Hindi.
In its report, the CAG had said that the railways recorded an operating ratio of 98.44 per cent in 2017-18 which is the worst in the last 10 years.
Taking on the government, the Congress criticised the government over the hike in LPG price and said, "Price rise, the new normal in the new India".
"LPG prices hiked for the fourth consecutive month. We must ask ourselves, why is the BJP government only interested in harming the common man?", it tweeted.
The state-run oil companies, on Monday, had increased the price of LPG cylinders by Rs 13.50, a fourth consecutive hike since September, 2019.
Taking a swipe at the BJP over its 'ideas of reforms', a day after a BJP MP said that the GDP is not relevant, former Finance Minister P Chidambaram, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail on INX Media alleged corruption case, said, "God save India's economy".
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey had said in Lok Sabha that "in future GDP will not be of much use as an economic indicator" and it was "not existed before 1934" and it was not an "ultimate truth".
While did not take Mr Dubey's name, Mr Chidambaram's family tweeted on his behalf: "GDP numbers are irrelevant, personal tax will be cut, import duties will be increased. These are BJP’s ideas of reforms. God save India’s economy".
Congress communication in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala has also slammed Mr Dubey and tweeted, "God save us from such 'novice economists' of 'New India'! Hey Ram!"
