Cong sets up various committees for Bihar Assy polls

New Delhi, Oct 11(UNI) The Congress on Sunday set up various committees for the Assembly elections in Bihar, including the election management committee and coordination committee, publicity committee and media coordination committee.

According to AICC General Secretary K C Venugopal, 'the Congress president has approved the proposal of election management and coordination committee, publicity committee, media coordination committee, public meeting and logistics committee, legal committee and office management committee for the Bihar State assembly elections.'

The 14-member election management and coordination committee is chaired by AICC media in-charge Randeep Surjewala and is being convened by senior leader Mohan Prakash.

The members of the committee include senior leaders Meira Kumar, Subodh Kant Sahay, Tariq Anwar, Shatrughan Sinha, Shakeel Ahmed, Kirti Azad and Ajay Yadav.

The 14-member publicity Committee will be convened by Subodh Kumar while the 15-member media coordination committee will be chaired by Pawan Khera and will have Prem Chndra Mishra as its convener.

The 13 members public meeting and logistics committee is chaired by Brijesh Kumar Munan while the eight member, legal committee is being chaired by Varun Chopra.

The ten-member Office management committee includes Ashok Kumar, Kaibab Qadri, Sunil Kumar Singh and Motilal Sharma.

Election for the Bihar Legislative Assembly will be held in three phases-- on October 28, November 3 and November 7. The counting of votes will be held on November 10.
