New Delhi, Aug 10 (UNI) Slamming the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government over handling of Covid, BJP president J P Nadda on Tuesday said the people of Telangana want the lotus to bloom in the state as they were disenchanted with the present dispensation.
In his address to party activists through video conferencing on the occasion of Bhumi Pujan of the nine district BJP offices of Telangana, Mr Nadda said, 'We wish that the people of Telangana should also get the benefit of the ongoing Vikas Yatra under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi'.
Strongly condemning the TRS government in the state, he said while the Central Government and the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi were engaged wholeheartedly in the service of humanity during the Covid period, the TRS Government of Telangana was busy weakening the fight against Corona.
In this decisive battle against Corona, Prime Minister Modi has not only led the country from the front but has also shown the way for the world to move forward, he stressed.
'In the fight against Covid-19, when even the powerful countries of the world were not able to decide whether to fight to save humanity or to focus on economic development, then our Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced to fight from Corona to save the humanity,' he pointed out.
Under the guidance of the Prime Minister, Mr Nadda said, the BJP emerged as 'Seva Hi Sangathan'.
During the lockdown, party workers in Telangana also distributed 24 lakh food packets, 16 lakh ration kits, more than 1.5 million face covers and about 6800 PPE kits, he maintained.
Mr Nadda said party workers also arranged for food, water and medicines for migrant laborers.
'Volunteers were deployed to take care of the elderly who took care of the health of the destitute elderly. I offer my heartfelt gratitude to the party workers for doing true service to humanity,' he said.
'How can a journalist die in Telangana due to lack of oxygen and the state government did not pay attention, what could be more unfortunate!,' he said, adding that the TRS government of the state has been reprimanded by the High Court due to inaction against Covid.
In June, a 33-year-old journalist based in Hyderabad had caught the coronavirus and as he struggled to breathe while sitting at the state-run Gandhi Hospital, his family ran from pillar to post to get help. Hours later, the man died of coronavirus and police informed the family later.
