Many in Congress have confided that Rahul’s obsession with Rafale damaging party: Goyal

New Delhi, Aug 22 (UNI) Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said many in the Congress have confided that Rahul Gandhi’s obsession with Rafale to wash off his father’s sins is damaging the party.
'Many of Rahul Gandhi’s Congress colleagues confide in private that Rahul’s obsession with Rafale to wash off his father’s sins is damaging the party.
'But if someone is wanting to self-destruct, who are we to complain? We invite him to fight 2024 elections on Rafale,' Mr Goyal tweeted retorting to Mr Gandhi's tweet alleging that money was stolen from the Indian exchequer in Rafale deal.
Earlier, the BJP said, 'Rahul Gandhi runs a factory of lies. In order to set the agenda of Congress politics, they makes blatant allegations on the Modi government morning and evening. Big leaders of Congress are busy making their lies viral.'
The saffron party also attached a report investigating the lies spread by Mr Gandhi from March to August.
In a tweet, Mr Gandhi quoted a source-based news report which claimed that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has submitted its performance audit on defence offset contracts to the government with no mention of any offset deals elated to the purchase of Rafale aircraft.
'Money was stolen from the Indian exchequer in Rafale. Truth is one, paths are many: Mahatma Gandhi,' he said in his missive.
Mr Gandhi has been constantly attacking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government on the deal for Rafale fighter jets, alleging irregularities in the deal.
