New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) The BJP on Tuesday alleged Amnesty International has raised funds from abroad, illegally and in questionable ways and asserted that if any institution has to work in India, then it will have to disclose about foreign funding.
The BJP refuted allegations by Amnesty International that it had to wind up its operations in India because of a witch hunt by the government and said the organisation was receiving funds from abroad in contravention of the Indian laws.
In a press conference here, party national spokesperson Rajyavardhan Rathore said 'Amnesty International is an international NGO that works in the field of human rights, headquartered in London. Today it announced that it is stopping his work in India as the Government of India has frozen its bank accounts."
