Assam artist Abhijeet Gotani meets PM with a portrait

New Delhi, July 22 (UNI) Abhijeet Gotani, a divyang artist from Assam on Friday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and presented the PM a portrait of his which Gotani had made.
Gotani, who hails from Cachar district, was accompanied by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, and his mother during his meeting with the PM at Parliament House.
The meeting comes days after Sarma wrote to the PM, mentioning about Gotani's portrait.
Apprising about Gotani's meeting with the PM, Sarma said, "Earlier, I wrote a letter to PM mentioning that Abhijeet Gotani, a divyang boy, who is hearing impaired, made a portrait of you and can he present it to you. I got a call from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) that the PM wants to meet Gotani and take the portrait. Today, he along with his mother met the PM and presented the portrait.
He expressed his gratitude to the PM for meeting the divyang artist and giving his blessings.
Lauding Gotani, the CM said, "He has been drawing since the age of three. The special thing about him is that he did not study in a special school. He studied in general school and obtained 80 per cent marks in the HSLC."
Elated over his meeting with the PM , the artist said, "Today, my dream has come true. The PM praised me and said the painting was very beautiful."
