Head of Neurology Department, Lady Hardinge Medical College Prof. (Dr.) Rajinder K Dhamija while speaking at a webinar “Wellness of Brain & Nervous System explained why India needs to urgently address the healthcare challenge posed by neuro-degenerative disorders "There are more than one crore people living with epilepsy in India, more than 10 lakh patients of Parkinson's in India and I believe that these numbers are grossly underrepresented due to under-reporting. We have 150,0000 strokes every year so every year we are adding 15 lacs to the burden of strokes. The fact that we are the diabetes capital of the world does not help either." The webinar was organised by ASSOCHAM on Monday.
