NIA arrests absconding accused Habibur Rehman SK in  Burdwan blast case

New Delhi, Jun 25 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested an absconding accused Habibur Rehman Sk alias Habibur Sk in Burdwan blast case from Dodabalpur area of Bengaluru, a probe official said here on Tuesday.



He was produced before the NIA Special Court at Bangaluru and the the Court has granted five day transit remand for producing him before the Special NIA Court, Kolkata.

A resident of a village in Birbhum district in West Bengal, Habibur Rehman Sk was earlier charge-sheeted on May 30, 2015 in this case for his direct involvement in the conspiracy of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) to wage war against Government of India and Bangladesh.

He was a close associate of senior JMB leader Jahidul Islam alias Kausar and other JMB leaders like Rahamatullah Sk alias Sajid and Moulana Yusuf.

“He was an active member of JMB, Bolpur Module in West Bengal and had attended a number of training camps conducted by JMB”, the probe agency officials said.
