Need more training  to curb growing allergic disorders: Dr Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Mar 8 (UNI) Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan on Friday stressed on increasing training and educational activities at national platform in order to curb growing number of allergic disorders, .
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of 3rd international conference on 'Childhood allergies' at Sri Ganga Ram Hospital , Dr Vardhan also emphasized the importance of incorporation of allergy education in the medical curriculum.
The Minister inaugurated Paediatric allergy & Pulmonology lab which is considered to be first of its kind.
He congratulated Sir Ganga Ram hospital for its commitment towards quality health care.
While praising the Modi government at the center, he said "The current government has shown courage in giving befitting reply to the perpetrators of Pulwama attack. PM Modi's policy in domestic and foreign affairs has been successful. A huge diplomatic win was achieved by India when it was invited in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).'
Dr Anil Sachdev, while speaking about the opening of pediatric allergy and pulmonology lab, said "this lab has been inaugurated with the aim to efficiently manage patients with asthma and allergies and to achieve excellence in the field through innovations,training and research activities.
The 3 day program is aimed to achieve various types of allergy manifestations including asthma,rhinitis,skin and food allergies,human-environment interactions,newer diagnostic methods like skin test and impulse oscillometry as well as allergy treatment with immunotherapy.
The 3 day international conference on childhood allergies, which will take place from March 8 - 10 , is beingorganised by pediatrics department of Sri Ganga Ram hospital.
Other dignataries who attended the ceremony were Dr D S Rana , Chairman , board of management, Dr Anil Sachdev , Director, pediatric emergency and Dr Neeraj Gupta, consultant pediatric intensivist and allergy specialist also attended the inaugural ceremony.
Dr Neeraj Gupta's book 'Allergy in a nutshell' was launched at the event.
Dr Gupta announced launching of a new Diploma course in pediatric allergy & asthma in collaboration with International Asthma Services, USA through distance learning mode. The course focuses on training of medical practitioners.
