Need balanced perspective on movement of skilled professionals, Modi tells US Congress delegation

New Delhi, Feb 21 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today urged a visiting US Congress delegation on the need to develop 'a reflective, balanced and far-sighted perspective on movement of skilled professionals'. Mr Modi was sharing his perspective with the visiting 26-member bi-partisan delegation on areas where both countries could work even more closely, including in facilitating greater people-to-people linkages that had over the years helped contribute to each other’s prosperity. Mr Modi referred to the role of skilled Indian talent in enriching the American economy and society as he stressed the need for developing a balanced perspective on movement of skilled professionals under the H1B visa. The PM welcomed the Congressional representatives to India and said it augurs a good start to bilateral exchanges following the new US Administration led by Donald Trump. During the interaction, he also recalled his positive conversation with the newly appointed President and the shared commitment to further strengthen ties that have grown deeper in the last two and a half years. In this regard, he recognised Congress’ strong bipartisan support for the India-US partnership, an official release here said. UNI SD SNU 1714
