New Delhi, Sep 18 (UNI) The Indian Federation of Working Journalists has expressed serious objection over the verdict of Andhra Pradesh High Court, restricting media not to disclose details of the FIR filed by the officers at Anti-Corruption Bureau against a former Attorney General and others.
In a statement issued on Thursday, IFWJ Delhi unit President Rajiv Ranjan Nag said that with such gag order on media, the judiciary was crossing 'Laxamanrekha' on the fourth Estate, amounting to suppress the freedom of press and against Article 19.
The HC order was not in the best interest of the democracy, he added.
