New Delhi, July 28 (UNI) Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will pay an official visit to India from August 1 to 4 along with a business delegation for talks with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen bilateral ties.
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said Solih will be accompanied by a high-level business delegation. The visiting leader will also meet External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar.
Solih will visit Mumbai to participate in business events. He will hold a discussion with an India business delegation.
"Needless to say, the Maldives is India's key neighbour in the Indian Ocean Region and occupies a special place in India's neighbourhood first policy," the spokesman said.
In recent years the partnership between the two countries has witnessed a rapid growth in all areas of cooperation.
"The upcoming official visit will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to review the progress made in this wide ranging partnership and impart directions to the two sides that will add further momentum to the strong partnership that we have," Bagchi said.
