New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Public sector banks (PSBs) have disbursed Rs 28,699 crore in education loans for the 2023–24 fiscal year, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said here on Monday.
Replying to an unstarred question in Lok Sabha, Chaudhary informed, “PSBs have observed a year-on-year (Y-o-Y) growth of 14.8 per cent in the amount disbursed for education loans for higher studies during the financial year 2023–24.”
“The number of loan accounts registered an increase of 17 per cent year-over-year from 6,29,594 in 2022–23 to 7,36,580 in 2023–24,” he said.
