New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) After witnessing a rise of above 40,000 cases daily for the past several days, India on Tuesday recorded a fresh spike of 37,975 new infections, while 480 more lives were claimed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the past 24 hours.
According to the Union Health Ministry data update this morning , the active case load of the disease also witnessed a dip by 4,819 on the country since Monday, with the nation housing 4,38,667 active cases at present, the data added.
Meanwhile, nation's overall COVID tally has now reached 91,77,841, while fatalities due to the highly contagious virus have now mounted to 1,34,218 till date.
Talking of recoveries, 42,314 more COVID patients were cured in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID survivors so far to 86,04,955.
In percentage, the active cases are now 4.78 per cent, discharged/cured 93.76 per cent and the fatalities 1.46 per cent of the total case count of the nation till date.
States to the likes of Delhi, Kerala, Maharashtra and West Bengal recorded the maximum recovered patients since Monday.
According to the ICMR , a total of 13,36,82,275 COVID tests have been done till date in the country.
Due to the situation of COVID in Delhi , government is working on increasing the number of ICU beds and adding on more medical infrastructure such as ventilators and BiPAP machines.
