New Delhi, Nov 12 (UNI) India on Wednesday clocked a single day spike of 47,905 fresh COVID cases during the past 24 hours, pushing the country's over all nCoV case tally to 86,83,917, the Union Health Ministry update said here.
Active case load of the nCoV cases further reduced and the count has now come down below five lakhs here today, and the figure now stands at 4,89,294 after witnessing a dip of 5,363 since Wednesday.
Talking of fatalities, the highly contagious virus claimed 550 lives since Wednesday, taking the pandemic death toll to 1,28,121, the government data added.
Meanwhile, there were 52,718 patients who defeated COVID in the past 24 hours , taking the total recovery count to 80,66,502.
In percentage, the active cases are now at 5.63 per cent, cured /discharged at 92.89 per cent and deaths due to COVID 19 are 1.48 per cent of the total case count of the country till date.
As per the Indian Council for Medical Research, a total of 12,19,62,509 COVID tests have been done till date across the country since the inception of the pandemic.
