New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) India on Friday recorded 81,484 fresh Coronavirus cases, taking the total cases to 63,94,069, while the active cases remained less than 10 lakh for the eleventh successive day, according to Union Health Ministry data.
However, the active case-load on the country witnessed an increase by 1512 cases since yesterday, and presently India is home to 9,42,217 active cases of Novel Coronavirus.
Also, the peninsular registered 78,877 cured and discharged cases in the last 24 hours which has pushed the total recoveries to 53,52,078.
Meanwhile, there were 1,095 deaths due to the highly contagious virus since Thursday pushing the death toll to 99,773 till date.
In terms of percentage, the active cases are 14.74 per cent, recovered at 83.70 per cent, and the deaths 1.56 per cent.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), as many as 10,97,947 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, taking the total cumulative samples tested since the beginning of the pandemic till Thursday to 7,67,17,728.
Maharashtra continues to remain the worst affected state with maximum case count as well as in terms of maximum active cases.
Telangana reported 2,009 fresh Coronavirus positive cases till 2000 hours on Thursday taking the cumulative number of cases to 1,95,609 so far.
Uttar Pradesh recorded 3,946 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the infection count to 4,06,995.
Kerala today crossed 9,000-mark in daily cases with 9258 fresh cases. The state has the third highest number of active cases at 77482.
Globally, the United States continues to remain the most-infected, followed by India and Brazil. On Friday, US President Donald Trump said, he and first lady Melania had tested positive for Covd-19 and would go into quarantine.
