New Delhi, Sep 4 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the all-out efforts made by police during the Novel Coronavirus pandemic, calling it the 'human face of Khaki uniform,' even as the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 39,36,747 on Friday, after addition of 83,341 new patients in the past 24 hours.

The US also registered the highest 1.91 lakh fatalities, while 1.24 lakh deaths were recorded in Brazil.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan BJP president Satish Poonia tested positive for COVID-19 and was under home isolation, as the case tally in the desert state reached 86,965, with 738 new cases.
The Allahabad High Court, while asking people to wear face mask and maintain social distancing, directed the Uttar Pradesh government to take stern action against the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the state, as it registered 6193 new cases, pushing the total positive cases to 2.5 lakh.

With this exponential rise in daily testing, the cumulative tests totalled 4,66,79,145. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare claimed that no other country has achieved these levels of high daily testing.
The Ministry further claimed that even with this high daily testing, the daily Positivity Rate was still below 7.5 per cent, while cumulative Positivity Rate is less than 8.5 per cent, reflecting the successful Centre-led strategy of Test, Track, Treat, being effectively implemented by most of the states.
As a part of the Unlock 4.0, as many as 13 daily special trains would be operated from Chennai to various destinations,in Tamil Nadu including southern districts, by Southern Railway, when the intra-state train services will resume on September 7.
