DCGI approves Covishield, Covaxin for emergency use

New Delhi, Jan. 03 (UNI) India’s wait for Covid-19 vaccine is over with the country’s drug regulator giving emergency approval on Sunday to two vaccines – Pune-based Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin.
The Drug Controller General of India VG Somani said both firms submitted data on their trial runs and both have been granted permission for "restricted use".
