Delhi Govt to double Corona tests: Kejriwal

New Delhi, Aug 26 (UNI) In view of the increasing cases of novel Coronavirus in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday said the number of Covid-19 tests will be doubled in the coming days.
Mr Kejriwal held an important review meeting today. Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Chief Secretary and all top officials of the Ministry of Health were present in the meeting.
Addressing a virtual press conference, the CM said,"There has been an increase in Covid-19 cases in last few days. Recovery rate is more than 90 per cent in the national capital. We are fully prepared. I have directed that number of tests will be doubled in coming days."
"Corona cases in Delhi have increased slightly in the last few days, although the rest of the figures are under control. Covid-19 testing will be doubled in Delhi in the coming days. Delhi government is going to double the number of corona tests," he said.
"Till now we were doing 20,000 tests, now we will do 40,000 tests everyday. Even after recovering from corona, if people have health problems, the Delhi government will give them an oximeter and if necessary, they will also arrange for an oxygen concentrator at home," said the CM.

"In the meeting, orders have been given to toughen the Enforcement. If you are not wearing a mask while going out, then I request you to wear a mask and do not be careless," said Mr Kejriwal.
"Delhi government has decided that if anyone has symptoms even after recovering from corona, such people will be given oximeter for a few days. If someone's oxygen is low, the facility of oxygen concentrator will be made at their home," he said.
Delhi recorded 1,544 fresh Covid-19 cases, taking the capital's tally to 1,64,071.
