China sets up national agency to prevent infectious diseases

New Delhi/Beijing, May 14 (UNI) China in a key step toward reforming its public health system, has set up a national administration of disease prevention and control, tasked with formulating policies for the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
The administration is headed by a vice-minister. It will be managed by the National Health Commission.
The administration will steer the development of the disease prevention and control system, the epidemic monitoring and early warning system, and the scientific research system for disease control.
