New Delhi, Sep 26 (UNI) In a bid to escalate the impact of the anti-dengue campaign, the Delhi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has decided to seek participation from the Resident Welfare Association (RWAs) of the National Capital.
Following a huge participation from the citizens of Delhi in the third week of the '10 Hafte 10 Baje 10 Minute' anti-dengue campaign of the Delhi government, the 10-week mass awareness campaign enters into its fourth week.
Last year, the RWAs played a huge role in this campaign, and the Delhi CM had addressed all the RWAs at Talkatora Stadium where he launched the five-point action plan for the RWAs to combat Dengue.
Taking to Twitter, Mr Kejriwal said on Saturday, "Tomorrow is the fourth Sunday of the campaign against dengue. I appeal to all the RWA's of Delhi to talk to the people in their respective colony and also add them to this campaign. We have to defeat dengue together.
#10Hafte10Baje10Minute".
Last week Mr Kejriwal said, "Right now, we are dealing with the Coronavirus pandemic, but it is also the season of Dengue when Dengue cases in Delhi significantly increase. We have relaunched the '10 Hafte 10 Baje 10 Minute Har Ravivar Dengue Par Vaar' this season, and this is the third week of our anti-dengue campaign."
"Last year, the citizens of Delhi defeated Dengue due to their collective efforts, and I hope that the people must be checking their houses this year as well. We do not want people to suffer from Dengue and we have to be conscious about both Dengue and Coronavirus," said the CM.
"Secondly, citizens must help in spreading awareness about measures to prevent Dengue. They must pick up the phone and call 10 of their friends/relatives and advise them on the good practices of preventing Dengue, such as draining stagnant water and replacing it. They must also advise their friends and relatives to take all measures to remain safe from Coronavirus," he had said.
This week the key focus of the Delhi government would be on the participation of the RWAs. Last year, through the participation of the RWAs and other organisations, only 2036 cases and two deaths as against 15867 cases and 60 deaths in 2015.
The first edition of the anti-dengue campaign was launched in 2019.
