Banks sanction Rs 4,930 crore under ‘Tarun Plus’ cover of Mudra Yojana

New Delhi, Aug 6 (UNI) Banks have sanctioned more than Rs 4,930 crore to 34,697 borrowers under the ‘Tarun Plus’ category of Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) as of June 2025.
This category was announced in the Union Budget 2024-25 for loans above Rs 10 lakh and upto Rs 20 lakh targeting the borrowers who have successfully repaid their earlier ‘Tarun’ category loans.
Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Minister for Finance, said in a written reply in Rajya Sabha yesterday: “With a view to incentivising successful borrowers under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY), a new category of Mudra loans namely ‘Tarun Plus’ was introduced in 2024-25 for those borrowers who have successfully repaid their Mudra loan under the Tarun Category.”
