New Delhi, Oct 31 (UNI) Keeping with the idea of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to empower the differently-abled, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale will distribute various equipment to the 'Divyang' people on November 28 in East Delhi's Laxmi Nagar area.
Mr Athavale, along with and cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir, will distribute the equipment, Delhi-based NGO Maa Shakti International organisation said in a statement here on Saturday.
It said on the occasion of Valmiki Jayanti, a registration camp was organised in Laxmi Nagar for those Divyang people, who were in need for equipment to empower themselves. The registration process will end on November 15.
On the death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule (November 28), the Divyangs will be provided with prosthetic limb equipment as well as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, tri-bicycles and other equipment, the statement added.
In collaboration with the Delhi Legal Service Authority, the differently-abled will also be made aware of their rights, while their grievances will also be heard on the same day, it said.
