New Delhi, Aug 30 (UNI) Commemorating the valour and sacrifice of its four soldiers who were awarded Gallantry Medals posthumously this Independence Day, the Central Reserve police Force (CRPF) DG A P Maheshwari planted saplings in their memories at the 'Shaurya Van' at Force academy at Kadarpur in Gurugram, an official statement said on Sunday.
Mr Maheshwari on Saturday, also inaugurated a 'Valour Wall' which would have the photographs of all alumni officers who have earned Gallantry Medals over the years.
As of now, this wall is presently adorned with 117 photographs of officers who were awarded 138 Gallantry Medals. These include the Kirti Chakra awardee Deputy Commandant Harshpal Singh, Shaurya Chakra recipients Deputy Commandant Kuldeep Singh Chahar, Assistant Commandants Vinoj P Joseph,Nagendra Singh Chandan Kumar and Vikas Jakhar.
