New Delhi, Oct 8 (UNI) BJP appears to be headed towards a comfortable victory in the poll-bound Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Goa, while Punjab and Manipur are witnessing a close fight between the leading parties, according to the ABP News-CVoter survey released on Friday.
According to the survey, UP CM Yogi Adityanath continues to remain the preferred choice for Chief Minister of the state with BJP predicted to win between 241 and 249 seats.
Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal is leading the popularity charts in Punjab with his party AAP predicted to win 49 to 55 seats.
In Uttarakhand, former state CM and Congress’ leader Harish Rawat has strengthened his popularity for the CM post but it is the BJP that is likely to retain the state by winning 42 to 46 seats.
Pramod Sawant of the BJP meanwhile remains the preferred choice for Chief Minister in Goa and, as per the polls, the party is set to come back to power and likely to win between 24 to 28 seats.
The survey, that comes at heels with major political developments, including change of the chief minister in Punjab, said the infighting within the Congress has left the door open for AAP and others to make a charge for power in the state.
As per the opinion poll, BJP is leading in Uttar Pradesh with 41.3 per cent vote share (241 to 249 seats), whereas Samajwadi Party is second with 32.4 per cent vote share (130 to 138 Seats). BSP is at distant third with 14.7 per cent vote share (15 to 19 seats).
In Punjab, Aam Aadmi Party is leading with 35.9 per cent vote share (49 to 55 seats), and Congress is second with 31.8 per cent vote share (39 to 47 seats). Shiromani Akali Dal is third with 22.5 per cent vote share (17 to 25 seats).
In Uttarakhand, BJP is leading with 44.6 per cent vote share (42 to 46 seats), whereas Congress is second with 34 per cent vote share (21 to 25 Seats). AAP is third with 14.7 per cent vote share (0 to 4 seats).
In Manipur, BJP is projected to get 35.6 per cent vote (26 to 30 seats). Congress is second with 34.5 per cent vote share (21 to 25 Seats). Others are at the third spot with 21.3 per cent vote share (1 to 5 seats).
In Goa, BJP is leading with 37.5 per cent vote share (24 to 28 seats), followed by AAP with 22.8 per cent vote share (3 to 7 Seats).
All these states will go to polls early next year.
