BJP confident of winning 220 seats in Bihar elections

BJP confident of winning 220 seats in Bihar elections

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) BJP on Friday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will win 220 seats in the just-declared Bihar assembly elections.
BJP spokesperson Shahnawaz Hussain said in a statement that the NDA in Bihar will win 220 seats in the 2020 election. As far as the opposition is concerned, they have no existence and like Lok Sabha elections, they will be finished, he maintained.
The Election Commission announced that elections to the 243-member Bihar Legislative Assembly would be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and 7 with counting of votes on November 10.
On the question of differences in the NDA, Mr Hussain said that there is neither any discrimination nor any difference in the NDA. All parties talk to each other and will sort out the matter of seats, he added.
He said the whole NDA was still united and will remain united and will fight the election together.
'Mr Nitish Kumar won 39 out of 40 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. This time also, the people of Bihar will bless the NDA for Mr Nitish Kumar's good governance in the state and the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre, specifically for Bihar,' he said.
He expressed confidence that the NDA will win 220 seats easily.
Mr Hussain also said, 'It is true that due to the protocols of Corona, the election will not be the same because we used to have the biggest rallies of the Prime Minister and people of Bihar used to attend them. But this time, due to Corona pandemic, there will be small election campaigns, and the Prime Minister will definitely address the people of Bihar through digital medium'.
Taking a dig at the opposition, Mr Hussain said Tejashwi Yadav did not use his father's (Lalu Prasad's) picture in posters.
'How are these sons who made their father disappear from the poster banner?" he asked sarcastically.
There is a breakdown in the Grand Alliance (comprises four political parties -- RJD, Congress, RLSP, and VIP) and no one is ready to consider Tejashwi Yadav as a leader, but on the contrary, he added that 'many leaders including our national president in the National Democratic Alliance have already said that our only electoral face is Nitish Kumar.'
Mr Kumar has done a lot of work which has helped Bihar and its people, he said.
'The state of Bihar seen a lot of progress and people will bless Nitish Kumar's good governance in Bihar and Prime Minister Modi's work at the Centre. The NDA will fight united and win 220 seats in the elections,' Mr Hussai stated.
