Pokhriyal congratulates JEE examinees for showing up for exams

New Delhi, Sep 2 (UNI) Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' on Wednesday congratulated examinees who had shown up for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) on the second day, braving the Coronavirus infection and inadequate transport facilities.
"I'd like to congratulate the students for having turned up to take JEE. All the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure) are being followed to the letter. I'm thankful to the Chief Ministers of the states who have facilitated the conveyance of students to their respective exam centres," he told reporters here on the second day of the week-long JEE exams to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) today.
He, however, expressed happiness that the country stood with the Central Government's decision to conduct JEE and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exams and not defer it as demanded by a large section of students as also Chief Ministers of Opposition ruled state governments.
