Chinese embassy in Delhi protests posters in support of Taiwan's national day

New Delhi/Taipei, Oct 10 (UNI) The Chinese Embassy in New Delhi on Sunday protested “certain media & individuals in India” for providing platforms for or supporting "Taiwan independence", which it said openly violates the One-China policy, even as Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen in an openly defiant speech said her government will not bow down to pressure from China.
The Chinese embassy spokesperson, reacting to posters coming up in New Delhi in support of Taiwan’s national day, said in a series of tweets that Beijing “firmly opposes” moves to provide a platform for Taiwan independence. He said ”Such attempts are bound to end up in vain.”
“China’s reunification is a historic trend &the right path, while “Taiwan independence” goes against tide of history & is a path that can only lead to a dead end. Future of Taiwan lies in national reunification & wellbeing of Taiwan compatriots is linked to national rejuvenation,” he said.
